Mother and daughter duo Debra and Gabriella Trivigno are setting out on a new venture having acquired premises in Nottingham’s Flying Horse Walk.

The unit, which was previously home to Atomic will be transformed into a new boutique offering luxury designer goods called Gigi Bottega or Gabriella’s Boutique in English.

“We wanted to go for a very Italian feel and hopefully the name reflects that,” said Gabriella. “Italy is synonymous with high quality fashionwear and the vast majority of the designers we will be stocking are based out there.”

The full list of designers’ names that will be able to call Gigi Bottega home is still under wraps, but Gabriella said that customers can expect to find one off pieces from popular names such as Prada and English designers like Burberry.

Gabriella added: “We don’t just want to deliver high quality goods though, customers are expecting more and more from the high street and service is now more important than ever before – especially when you’re spending a lot of money.

“This ethos extends right through to our stock choices and store culture – we’ve designed our shop to have a stripped back feel, making the most of the original features the 14th Century building we’re in has to offer.

Matt Revill, surveyor at property consultants FHP said: “We’ve had a huge amount of interest in the space – it proved an extremely popular unit for its previous tenant and will work well for Gabriella and Debra’s store concept.”

Flying Horse Walk has seen a number of new tenants set up shop over the past year – Gigi Bottega will join fellow newcomers Pearl Boutique, Brew Cavern and Brik Barbershop.

Simon Blair from London and County which owns the Flying Horse Walk said: “It’s fantastic to see local business expanding; it’s testament to Nottingham’s thriving independent consumer culture.

“We have a good blend of independent and nationally established shops within Flying Horse Walk and I’m sure Gigi Bottega will fit right in alongside them.”

Located at the South Parade entrance to Nottingham’s Flying Horse Walk, Gigi Bottega is due to open mid-September
