News & Events FAVOLOSO! ITALIAN DESIGNER BOUTIQUE OPENING IN CITY CENTRE
Luxury Italian boutique Gigi Bottega will become the latest addition to Nottingham’s Flying Horse Walk when it opens its doors to shoppers on 19 September.
Nottingham’s newest designer duo, mother and daughter team Debra and Gabriella Trivigno, are opening their first shop together and the pair couldn’t be more excited.
The boutique, which will stock a range of high-end Italian clothing and accessories, has really been a family affair with Angelo Trivigno, Debra’s husband, giving the pair the encouragement they needed to make their dream a reality.
“Dad gave us the extra push we needed to get the ball rolling. The whole family have been really supportive - even my older brother has got involved,” said 20-year-old Gabriella.
Gigi Bottega, or Gabriella’s Boutique in English, will stock Italian brands including Prada and Dolce & Gabbana with a focus on clothing for men and accessories for women.
Both Debra and Gabriella have worked in retail for a number of years, Debra for 32 years and Gabriella for four.
“Having more than three decades of retail experience between us, we have the behind-the-scenes knowledge to know what goes on in the running of a successful business,” added Gabriella.
“We made the decision to open Gigi Bottega last October and looked around the city at possible locations for a few months until we found Flying Horse Walk. The Walk is a perfect fit for the shop as it focuses on independent retailers and boutiques which is exactly what we wanted.
“The unit was secured in May of this year and we have been working tirelessly ever since to get everything ready. I can’t wait to get back to work, Mum and I will be working in the shop ourselves so will be overseeing the day-to-day – it’s a real family business.”
Gabriella believes that working with her mother on the project has brought the two closer together and sharing the experience has decreased the worry and stress involved in setting up a new business.
“There have been no arguments, we get along really well – I wouldn’t set up a shop with anyone else,” she said.
Simon Blair, of London & County LLP which owns the Flying Horse Walk said: “I’m delighted to welcome Gigi Bottega to the Walk, which now stands at full capacity.
“We have an eclectic blend of independent and nationally established shops which contribute to the unique shopping experience at Flying Horse Walk. Gigi Bottega will fit right in.”
Located at the South Parade entrance of Flying Horse Walk, Gigi Bottega will open to the public at 9am on Saturday 19 September.
